Oil Pan and Windage Tray Coatings
PolyDyn coats oil pans inside and out, with two different coatings doing two different jobs.
Inside: Performance Oil Shedding Coating
We use Performance Oil Shedding Coating on the inside of the pan, which sheds oil from coated surfaces to reduce oil retention. A coated pan cycles oil through the engine more efficiently: oil slides off the sides of the pan instead of collecting on the bottom.
The same coating goes on the windage tray, which helps oil return to the pan more efficiently and uniformly. Oil slides off the tray rather than running or dripping off it. It is the same oil shedding coating we specify for crankshafts, and the two work together on windage.
Outside: Performance Urethane Coating
We coat the outer surfaces of the pan with Performance Urethane Coating, a high gloss, extremely durable, corrosion resistant finish designed to protect and enhance the appearance of the part. PolyDyn urethanes come in an extensive selection of colors, the same finish family used on intake manifolds.
