PolyDyn Performance Coatings

Performance Proven Protection, the PolyDyn Edge

Originally developed for the NASA space exploration programs, polymer coatings have since been used successfully in various commercial and industrial applications. In 1979, Polymer Dynamics Inc. (PolyDyn) developed PolyDyn Performance Coatings, the finest performance engine coatings and applications available for automotive and racing engine components, as well as many industrial applications. We are committed to research and development, continually offering new products and serving the needs of customers just like you.

With decades of experience, PolyDyn has provided radically advanced coating techniques and engineered coatings solutions through the entire spectrum of racing and engine components. Our customers consist of the biggest names in stock car and drag racing, including the NHRA, NASCAR, Nextel Cup, SCCA, CART, IRL, World of Outlaws and IROC.

PolyDyn Performance Coatings are proven in track competitions and are unmatched by any other performance engine coating. Though PolyDyn Performance Engine Coatings are applied to ensure that a .0002" to .0007" overbuild remains on the surface, the product also boasts many additional benefits. PolyDyn fluoropolymers become part of the coated materials’ surface: .005" to 0.50" actual penetration, depending on the material. While some overbuild can be removed, it is virtually impossible to extract a polymer from the pores of the metal to which it is applied. Consequently, PolyDyn coatings will last nearly indefinitely. We also offer pre-coated Performance Parts for your application needs.

Industrial applications for PolyDyn Coatings include oilfield manufacturers, robotics, petrochemical, weapons, biomedical, gas turbines, aerospace and more. Contact us for more information.

TX-7 Friction Reducing Treatments

About TX-7

PolyDyn TX7 logo

PolyDyn TX7™ Friction Reducing Treatments are revolutionary treatments that coat vital engine parts and other moving parts of the drive train, drastically reducing friction and heat. Add years to the life of your automobile, increase its efficiency and reduce maintenance costs with an application of TX7 Treatment. You will see the difference.

Provide advanced protection for your entire vehicle: the engine, manual and automatic transmission, power steering, and differential. Replacement parts are expensive, extend their life with PolyDyn TX7. Does PolyDyn TX7 really work? Ask the professionals. Some of the biggest names in stock car and drag racing, NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA, World of Outlaws, SCCA, IndyCar, monster truck and boat racing.

How It Works

This works by burnishing TFE particles into the irregularities of the metal surfaces. Where you once had metal to metal, you now have TFE to TFE. This reduces metal interface friction, reduces heat build-up and increases efficiency. TX7 can be used in any engine, new or old, even diesel engines. In a new engine it can be added as soon as the recommended break-in period has been achieved, usually 4,000 to 7,000 miles or at the first recommended oil change. In an older engine, simply add during any routine oil change. TX7 is recommended at every oil change at a ratio of 80% good quality motor oil to 20% PolyDyn TX7.

Unlike other engine treatments, TX7 particles are ground to a fraction of a micron, allowing them to pass through any filtration system while other engine treatments get trapped in oil filters and never reach the engine. The TFE particles stay in suspension and will not build up on themselves in critical areas, so TX7 will not clog oil lines, oil ports or oil filters. TX7’s TFE bonding takes place at friction wear points regardless of engine temperature.

TX7 Improves the Performance Properties of Engine Oil

Better oil film strength under adverse conditions, such as stop and go traffic or high ambient temperatures when the engine is stressed.

Wear reduction achieved by burnishing the polymer onto the moving parts of the engine. As the engine runs, this soft, easily transferable synthetic lubricant attaches itself to high friction contact points and surface voids throughout the engine, greatly reducing metal to metal contact. Oil analysis of vehicles that have used TX7 shows a reduction of soluble wear metals between 50% and 90%. See the TX-7 test data.

Efficiency from reduced friction between moving parts, keeping the oil film in place at all times and allowing the engine to run smoother with less energy wasted.

Proven Where It Is Hardest

Much of what is known about TX7 came out of the racing community, where engines run at very high speed under heavy load, and where oil temperature, oil pressure and film strength decide whether the car finishes. Those results carry straight over to the cars and trucks on the road today.

The IROC Years

The International Race of Champions, or IROC, was conceived in 1973 as a way to answer one simple question: who is the best driver in the world? Some called it an All-Star Game, others referred to it as The Ultimate Test of Driving Skill, but to PolyDyn, we saw it a little differently. We believe it was a proving ground for some of the best technology ever designed to enhance the performance of automobile engines.
